AGM December 9, 2019

It was a hot morning but we had a wonderful turnout for the most important meeting of our year – our Annual General Meeting for 2019.

This meeting said goodbye to our Present of three years, Gabi Dick. Gabi and her team have done an amazing job of organising and maintaining the Association and its members. Gabi has had a few health issues but she has overcome everything in her path and ended her tenure still smiling. She gave a wonderful report and thanked all her committee and the many other members who have contributed this year. We  have new systems in place, grant monies implemented and acquitted, new lighting installed, successful exhibitions and many other events in 2019.

Our Treasurer, Jacques Sauterel confirmed that NACA has healthy bank accounts to start 2020. We now have 417 financial members and their fees, activity fees, workshop fees and gift shops sales have been the major income for the last financial year.

Our Chairman for the day was Jim Barrass who has officiated at many of our AGMs in recent times. He took over the meeting when the 2019 Committee positions were declared vacant and welcomed in the nominated members of the 2020 Committee – all positions were unopposed. Thank you Jim for your time and expertise.

Sandy Mackie took over the meeting and gave her maiden address as President of NACA. Sandy has been a member for 15 years and always taken an active role within the Association as part of our prolific and enthusiastic Quilting group and lately as a Committee Member. We know she will make another outstanding NACA President as she is full of ideas and knows how to implement them!

We wish Sandy and her Committee – Jill Harris (Secretary), Vicki Bradbury, Lorraine Christie, Diane Ridgeway, Gabi Dick (Vice-President), Sally Heron, Sheila Mason (Treasurer) and Maree Risby-Jones – a happy, healthy and successful year.
