Aspects of Nature
My interest in art began during my teenage years when I began drawing charcoal portraits of popular film stars. Unfortunately, my interest in art was side-tracked by my need to earn a living, and it wasn’t until some forty years later that I returned to my earlier passion.
In 2003, encouraged by local artist Pauline Adair, I took part in live drawing classes. A year later, I joined the weekly classes of the late art teacher, Arturo Xavier, whose coaching and encouragement provided the right environment for me to quickly improve my techniques in drawing and pastel.
In 2007 I joined the workshops of Sunshine Coast artist Lizzie Connor. These weekly art classes gave me the opportunity to acquire skills in acrylic and fully identify with art.
In 2016 I became a member of Noosa Arts & Crafts, in 2018 a member of the Coolum Art Group and in 2019 a participant of the Butter Factory Art Centre Cooroy. Over the last few years I attended the workshops of Chris Postle, Noela Flack, Wendy Epp, Peter Griffen, Trevor Purvis and Pam Taylor.
