Two of our much-loved members were nominated for Queensland Day Awards. The ceremony to present these awards was held at The J on June 3. MP Sandy Bolton gave out the awards to 25 recipients – two of which were our well-deserved members – John D’Arcy and Kay Bodman.
John has been a key member in the dismantling and rebuilding of our Ceramic Centre – liaising with Noosa Council and using his considerable building skills to help create the light and airy workspace for our ceramicists. All members of the ceramics group assisted and played their part in the new work-friendly design which has culminated in a Ceramic Centre we are all proud of.
Kay Bodman is a wonder at grant applications and over the last 5 years has given her time willingly to help NACA apply for grants – to date we have received $100.000 which has allowed us to renovate the kiln shed, add a shade verandah to our paper-making shed, and install solar panels.
Thank you John and Kay and congratulations!
