“Still Fired Up” – June 4-28

This exhibition explores the rich art tradition of the ‘still life’ genre, which originates from ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman art, and has inspired artists for centuries.

Here we have combined the artistic interpretation of subjects with objects of inspiration. All pottery and ceramic works in this exhibition have been fired in our own kiln on site at Wallace House, Noosaville.

For some artists their practice reflects the traditions of naturalism and realism, while others have taken a more expressive approach where the work is not intended to illustrate a subject exactly, but to communicate ideas.

Demonstrating we are indeed ‘still fired up’ about art, Noosa Arts and Crafts Association is proud to present work in the tradition of still life, juxtaposed with objects of inspiration – fine ceramics, pottery and decorative mosaics – all from our own artists.
