Wallace House – our Centre for Creativity – is about to become THE HUB for Noosa Open Studios (NOS) again this year – October 9 – 18 . This is where you can see an example of every participating artist’s work, pick up a brochure, and enjoy some light refreshments while deciding which trail to follow. Noosa Arts and Crafts is well known for its welcoming and creative ambience.
Many of our members have open studios this year. We are so proud of their achievements and the fact that they choose to be members and spend time in Wallace House, sharing, developing and honing their skills. We hope their open studios are a great success for them.
Our President Sandy Mackie recently organised a total revamp of our kitchen area and we can now offer delicious scones, slices and cakes freshly baked to serve in our popular Pop-Up Café.
Noosa Arts & Crafts also offers a wide range of activities – everything from beading to watercolour – for members to join and enjoy. Throughout the year we have regular workshops, although COVID-19 has put rather a limit on these. We have our Wattle Studio shop which will be open during NOS and be stocked with members’ work. We have an online shop too which is mainly paintings but some knits and toys. https://noosaarts&crafts.org.au/online-shop/
As we are unable to hold our regular exhibitions, we have designed an exciting range of online exhibitions – groups and solos. Our latest one – Celebrating Quilting 2020 – was launched on September 15 and shows over 60 quilts from 27 members – a myriad of styles and techniques. https://noosaartsandcrafts.org.au/online-exhibitions/
Wallace House is a wise choice by NOS to give those eager art lovers a stimulating start to the many exciting trails.
