After the COVID 19 lockdown and then extensive renovations, our Ceramic Centre is once again open and all fired up. Our members are returning and creating again.

The whole Ceramic Centre was cleared of shelving, displays, equipment and tables – even the outer walls were removed. The old wooden timber stumps were replaced by shiny new metal ones. A new toilet was added and a separate entrance was created. The outer walls were put back and given a fresh coat of charcoal-coloured paint.

The new stumps take up much less room and the new design of the studio has created a light and airy creative space for the members. We have a special locked area for glazes and chemicals, a station for our wheel throwing, more tables to work on and more storage shelves.

It’s a wonderful COVID-19 safe environment and our members are loving being back at work as you can see by the kiln – fully loaded and ready to fire!

New members are always welcome and there are plenty of experienced members who are willing to share their expertise with beginners on the techniques of wheel-throwing and hand-building to name but two. – so much to learn and experiment with.
